Finished the thumb on my glove
then started and frogged and started and frogged and started (possibly to frog) the mitten-top that joins on to it

I’ve nearly finished the first hand now – just one fingerless finger and the thumb to go before the hand part is finished. Looking good!

Sitting in the sun with my knitting, Wagamama chicken gyoza and listening to Philip Glass’s music for The Hours. Heaven

I’m afraid it may go on like this for a while but I’ve made a good start on the first glove – I’m a third of the way up the palm already and I think they’re going to be gorgeous.

Cuff is half done. Too exhausted to contemplate anything more creative.

Using the pale blue Koigu sock yarn I bought a few weeks back to knit a new paid of flip-top mitten-gloves – someone in the accounting department told me that, come winter, everyone on our floor is permanently rugged up in overcoats and gloves, so I think it’s best to be prepared!

Red with a purple stripe. My own design, using up some of the leftover Malabrigo sock yarn. Photos yet to be taken…

on CSS-Tricks, which now has me all fired up to get back to designing both raspberryblue.com and my new personal site. It’s not much of an achievement, I know, but I’m poorly today and this is about all I’ve been capable of in between naps. iPod cosy is about 2/3 done now.

This is a bit like baby-clothes-knitting in preparation for the baby’s arrival. I don’t have the iPod Touch yet, but I want its cosy to be ready for when I’m told I’ve got a job and rush out and buy it. I’m making the pattern up as I go along and so far it’s coming along nicely. Red with a purple/blue stripe. I think it’s going to work well.

My mother wants a scarf in this delicious cotton chenille yarn we bought her in Shropshire, but I’ve no pattern for it, so I’m taking my first tentative tottering steps into knitwear design by making it up as a go along. First attempt has drawn a lot on an existing pattern, but isn’t right, so I guess I’ll have to deviate more and be more adventurous. Fun!
